Chintamani Ras is a herbo-mineral-metallic formulation or Ras aushadhi of Ayurveda. The main ingredient of Rasa aushadi is Shuddha Parada along with the other components. Parad or mercury is used only after proper purification which is done by Shodhana, Mardana (grinding), Swedana (vapourising), Prakshalana (performing frequent ablutions), Galana (straining fluids) etc. The processing detoxify mercury and bring about the physical and chemical changes in the drug, thus enhance their therapeutic efficiency. Key Ingredients of Chintamani Ras
Each 1 tola Shuddha Parad and Shuddha Gandhak, Abrakh Bhasma, Loh Bhasma, Vang Bhasma, Shudh Shilajit, Shudh Amber, 1/4 Tola Swarna Bhasma, 1/2 Tola Mauktik Pishti and Raupya Bhasma. Processed in: Chitrakmula decoction, juice of Bringraj, decoction of Arjun bark.
Process of Drug making as described in Ayurvedic Text Siddha Yog Sangrah
First Kajjali (fine blend of puriifed Parad and Gandhak) is prepared and other Bhasma are mixed with the Kajjali to form a fine blend. The Kajjali mixture is processed for 1 day each with Kwath prepared from Chitrak mula and juice of Bhringraj Eclipta alba. The mixture is finally processed with Kwath prepared from bark of Arjun for 7 days till a uniform blend is achieved then pill of 1 Ratti are rolled. (1 tola=12g, 1 ratti=125mg)
Uses of Chintamani Ras
Chintamani Ras gives strength to nerves and muscles. This medicine improves heart function and acts as a prophylactic in angina (chest pain, pressure in chest) and heart attack. Its continuous administration reduces Cholesterol level. This medicine is cardiac tonic and cures weakness of heart. It is administered with Prawal Chandra puti or Moti Pishti for weakness of heart, high blood pressure and palpitations.
Dosage of Chintamani Ras
The recommended dosage of Chintamani Ras is 1 tablet be taken in the morning and evening or as directed by the Physician.
