Chitrakasava is polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation. This medicine is indicated in treatment of skin diseases. It is prepared from cow's urine, chitrak, trikatu and honey. The urine of Indian Cow or Gau mutra has many therapeutic uses. Gau-mutra is useful in obstinate skin diseases.

It alleviates all three doshas (vata, ptta and kapha), destroys parasitic infection, and cures digestive disorders. Another important ingredient of this medicine is Chitrak (Plumbago zeylanica). The root of Chitrak plant is used in Ayurveda for eczema, itching, and skin disorder. Even externally, the paste of whole plant is applied on any kind of skin diseases.

Gau mutra cow urine: The urine of Indian Cow has many therapeutic uses.

Chitrak Plumbago zeylanica:The roots of Chitrak is used in Ayurveda for treatment of various diseases related to digestive system like impaired or weak digestion, grahni, piles, abdominal pain, skin diseases etc.

Trikatu:Trikatu churna is good for digestive system, improves metabolism and reduces obesity. For person suffering from impaired digestion, bloating, gaseous distension, poor absorption of nutrients, it is an excellent OTC herbal remedy.

Uses of Chitrakasavam

Chitrakasavam is used to treat leucoderma. This medicine is also useful in treatment of other type of skin diseases, anemia, piles and dropsy. It improves digestion. It is important to maintain strict Pathya while treating skin diseases.

Dosage of Chitrakasavam

The recommended dosage of Chitrakasavam 15-30ml, twice a day. Or take as directed by physician.
