Mentha arvensis is commonly known as mint and Pudina.  This belongs to genus Mentha which consists of about forty species of perennial aromatic herb which are distributed throughout world.  It has expectorant, antiseptic, antipyretic, antimicrobial, stimulant with anti-aging properties and is very good for digestive system.  Generally it is used for flavouring foods and beverages.

How to use mint leaves

You can use fresh or dried leaves of mint. For drying purpose fresh perfect leaves should be selected and washed in tap water. Then these should be shade dried for few days in hygienic condition. You can use dried mint leaves to prepare mint tea. You can also use fresh mint leaves to prepare chutney which has very good aromatic taste.
