Medicinal use of Naagdon

Naagdon is very common plant and mainly used as ornamental plant because of its dark green stem and leaves. This plant propagates through stem cuttings. You may have noticed this herb on hedges. Generally plants which produce latex are poisonous but this medicinal herb is non toxic.

Naagdon is a good medicinal herb to stop abnormal bleeding from any body part such as in piles, periods, colitis etc.

Some medicinal uses of Naagdon

  • Bawaseer, Bleeding piles

    Take Naagdon leves (1-3), wash to remove dirt. Grind leaves and black pepper (2-3) in mortar and pestle. Add in water and drink this preparation empty stomach in morning.

  • Heavy periods (menorrhagia), Over Bleeding in periods

    Grind leaves of naagdon (1-3) and black pepper(3). Take daily empty stomach in morning.

  • Joint Inflammation, Boils, Wound

    Warm Naagdoon leaves and castor leaves, add til taila and apply at affected areas.

  • Constipation

    Chew Naag don leaves to cure constipation.

  • Ulcerative colitis

    Extract juice of Nagdon leaves and mix in water and drink daily empty stomach in the morning.

  • Amebiasis, Intestinal infection

    Mix naagdon leaves (3) juice with Doodhi grass juice and take to cure infection of intestine.

  • Abdominal pain, gas, Bleeding due to any reason

    Chew 3 leaves of Naagdon empty stomach in morning.

  • Scanty urination, Burning sensation during urination, Painful urination

    Prepare Sharbat of Naagdoon leaves in water, add honey or sugar and drink twice a day.
