Amebiasis is a diseases which is caused by Entamoeba histolytica in intestine. It can live in the large intestine (colon) without causing damage to the intestine but some time it can cause chronic diarrhea and acute dysentery. Some time Entamoeba histolytica infection can also spread through the blood to the liver and, rarely, to the lungs, brain, or other organs.

Symptoms of Amebiasis
Amebiasis can be mild and sever,
Symptoms of mild amebiasis
Abdominal cramps, Diarrhea, 3 - 8 semi formed stools per day, Soft stools with mucus and occasional blood, fatigue, excessive gas, rectal pain while having a bowel movement and weight loss.
Symptoms of sever amebiasis
abdominal tenderness, bloody stools, passage of liquid stools with streaks of blood, more than 10 - 20 stools per day, fever, vomiting.
Causes of Amebiasis
Entamoeba histolytica can spread through foods and water contaminated with infected person stool as human waste are used a fertilizer. So be careful while eating raw vegetable and always make sure water you are drinking is safe. There are many sever risk of associated with Amebiasis if not treated properly.
In Ayurveda there are many herbs and herbal and poly herbal medicines which are very effective to treat amebiasis. Here are list of some good medicine to treat amoebiasis.
Amoebica(Baidyanath)
Amoebica is patented and proprietary ayurvedic medicine prepared by Baidyanath after years of research. It is used to treat amoebiasis, diarrhoea and dyspepsia. Take 2 Amoebica Tablets twice a day with water or 1 tablet trice a day.
Kutaj Tablets
Kutaj Tablets main ingredient of this medicine is bark of Kutaj tree or Holarrhena antidysenterica. Kutaj is also known as Kuda or Indrajav and is used in Ayurveda to prepare medicines for treating atisara, grahni, raktaatisaar etc. Take 1 to 2 tablets twice-thrice a day with Kutajarishta or lukewarm Water or as directed by physician.
Bilva Valeha
Bilva valeha is ayurvedic medicine for treating diarrhea. It contains baelphal or Bilva fruit which is well known for treating chronic diarrhea and dysentery. Take 1 tea spoon full three to four times a day.
Mebarid
Mebarid is an Ayurvedic preparation made with herbs which are prescribed as anti-antidiarrheal and anti-dysenteric in Indian Ayurvedic texts. Note: While suffering from Amebiasis always take bland diet as it is required in treatment. These medicines are more effective when given with bland diet.
